One rising voice
Healing, Dignity, and Economic Autonomy for
Women and Girls.
Sauti ya Mama (“The Mother’s Voice”) is a community-led humanitarian organization in Malawi advancing gender justice, mental health, physical autonomy, and economic resilience across Dzaleka refugee camp and host villages.
Root-Cause Healing & Community Integration
In displacement and high-poverty contexts like Dzaleka Refugee Camp and surrounding Dowa communities, single-issue solutions are not enough. A woman who finds safety still needs an income; a woman building a business still needs emotional healing and physical protection. Sauti ya Mama delivers an integrated, survivor-centered continuum of care. By addressing mental health, bodily autonomy, safe employment, and family cohesion under one roof, we empower displaced and marginalized women to lead self-determined lives.

Safe Work & Employment Hub (SWEH)
Informal job searching often exposes displaced women and youth to severe exploitation, wage theft, and human trafficking. Sauti ya Mama’s Safe Work & Employment Hub (SWEH) formalizes informal labor by connecting 1,000 workers across Dzaleka Camp and Dowa District (70% women/girls, 50/50 refugee-host integration) to vetted employers with transparent contracts and rights protection.
